I’ve always made special note of Canadian actors, there are a lot to keep track of, more than you may suspect. Of Course there’s Pam Anderson, Jim Carrey, Mike Meyers, Howie Mandell, Keeanu Reeves and Micheal J. Fox. There are also many up and comers including Anna Paquin (True Blood and X-Men), Seth Rogan, Ellen Page (Juno), Micheal Cera (Arrested Development and Juno), Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams (The Notebook).
Now I may have been living in a cave for most of my life, but I wasn’t aware until recently that James Cameron is Canadian as well. The same James Cameron who directed Titanic, Terminator, True Lies and the winner of the 2010 Golden Globe for best drama Avatar. And what do you know? Up In The Air director Jason Reitmen is also Canadian and was also nominated for best drama. {Please note the Canucks shirt in the pic of Mr. Reitaman} Two out of five… not bad.
Other accomplished directors from the great white north include Paul Haggis (Crash, also wrote Million Dollar Baby and the two newest Bond flicks), Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Twins), David Cronenberg (The Fly, A History of Violence) and Norman Jewison (Moonstruck, The Hurricane).
